Moving to College

Once you are admitted into College

it's time to apply to any available Scholarships and Financial Aid

Although scholarships often won't cover 100% of your tuition and living expenses, you definitely should apply to  all the resources available to you. During the last step of the College Ready Program you will receive the support you need to take advantage of available scholarships or financial aid.

College Transitions can be challenging, but don't worry! You are strong and capable, and you can always ask for help.  It is important to identify your Support Team: Your Parents, Counsellors and Mentors at your College and your Coach.

You might need Additional Support

Your Life in College

College is a time to really discover yourself. At the same time, you are away from the comfort of your home and friends.  During this time you learn how to take care of yourself and live independently.

Adapting to a new routine could be challenging, especially while you are trying to fit into a new culture and a new program.  Just remember, it is always ok to ask for help when needed.

Improve Your Performance

Developing positive habits that help you improve your performance is a smart goal.  Mental skills such as Working Memory, Organization,  Planning and Prioritizing,  Task Initiation, Flexible Thinking, and Impulse Control are skills that can be developed and used to learn, work, and manage daily life.

Emotional Wellbeing

According to Psychology Today, emotional well-being is “the ability to practice stress-management techniques, be resilient, and generate the emotions that lead to good feelings.”  Managing emotions allows us to complete tasks, achieve goals, thrive in stressful situations and cope with uncertainty, change, and high  performance demands.
